1. 1967 Chevrolet Impala from Supernatural (TV series)

This classic beauty rose to fame going on hunting missions with Sam and Dean on the long-running show Supernatural. It’s so loved not only by the character but actors and fans, as well, that they consider this machine as another character. Dean even named it Baby.

2. 1981 DeLorean DMC-12 from the Back to the Future franchise (films)

Who wouldn’t want a time-traveling car with Gullwing doors? The DeLorean made its mark in cinematic history when it took Marty McFly and Doc Brown to 1955, 2015, 1885, and back to 1985. At some point, it even flew.

3. 1963 Volkswagen Beetle from the Herbie franchise (films)

Herbie defied all odds. A story about a small road car that competes in a racing event is a tale for all ages. It even stood the test of time with multiple sequels and reboots.

4. 1982 Pontiac Trans Am from Knight Rider (TV series)

KITT, or the Knight Industries Two Thousand, is the ultimate crime-fighting robotic car. Fireproof, bulletproof, and can drive itself, you’d think KITT was a car from the future. Michael Knight wasn’t so lonely with KITT talking to him. This car was way ahead of its time.

5. 1964 Aston Martin DB5 from Goldfinger of the James Bond franchise (film)

When you think “spy,” your mind immediately goes to James Bond. Now, when you think “spy car,” of course, you think of the Aston Martin DB5. the original 007, Sean Connery, made this car iconic in the film Goldfinger. It’s fast and classy. What more could a spy ask for in a car?

6. 1969 Dodge Charger from Dukes of Hazzard (TV series and film)

Known as “The General,” the Dodge Charger is practically another character in the Dukes of Hazzard franchise. Saving the day or getting out of trouble, cousins Bo and Luke Duke wouldn’t get anywhere without their beloved car.

7. Batmobiles from the Batman franchise (TV series and films)

There are multiple versions of Batman throughout time. He’s had several cartoon shows and movies. He’s also had many actors play him in a plethora of live-action movies. But a constant in the Caped Crusader’s life is his Batmobile.

What makes the Batmobile iconic is not a specific model or a multitude of cool features. What makes keeps this car in every fan’s heart is its affiliation with Batman. There are so many versions of it that there isn’t a definitive look. Sure, advanced technology and Bruce Wayne’s money gave the vehicle a ton of cool features. But that fact that it’s linked to one of the most well-known characters in the world is enough to call it iconic. It’s as much as a legend as its owner.

How could Lightning McQueen not be on this list? Every child in the world, boys and girls, know this car’s story. Falling from fame before he could rise to it. Humbled by the experience and the people around him.

But why is he iconic, he’s a cartoon? Well, imagine you saw the first film when you were a child. You grew up knowing his name, his story. It’s still with you. Before you know it, a whole generation will watch the movie and do the same and so on and so forth.
